Gwen Utter
Children’s Minister (K-5th Grade)
Gwen serves as C3’s Children’s Minister, rooted in Carthage, Missouri, throughout her life. She graduated from Missouri Southern State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2001 and is a proud mother to two sons, Evan and Chastin.
Gwen's journey with C3 began in 2006, where she transitioned from being an on-and-off Children's Ministry intern since 2009 to assuming the role of full-time Children's Minister in 2023. Prior to this, she spent 12 years teaching varying grades, mostly including 2nd grade.
Gwen's responsibilities encompass planning and programming for Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, organizing K-5th grade trips, camps, and SuperStart for 4th-5th graders, and providing support to parents in raising their K-5th graders. She oversees volunteers in both small and large group settings, fostering an environment that cultivates discipleship among children.
Outside of ministry, Gwen finds solace in reading, particularly fiction, young-adult, and dystopian genres, and she delights in cooking and making plans. On Sundays and Wednesday nights, you'll often find Gwen in Station 4.19, classrooms, the C3 atrium, and orchestrating functions for K-5th graders with passion and dedication.
